The Pugs Have Entered the Building

On Thursday May 21, pugs were everywhere as Nube Nove: A Salon by Billie played host for the Orlando Pug Rescue and Adoption, Inc (OPRA). The event was open to everyone and all dogs - not just pugs - were invited.
There were designer haircuts for anyone who wanted one, a silent auction whose proceeds would benefit OPRA, and a pug wash for any pug who wanted one. And for those of us who love getting kisses from dogs, there was a kissing booth at the salon offering kisses from a pug for one dollar.
Dogs are one of my favorite animals and if I could have, I would have adopted at least one of the available pugs last Thursday. Spunky is an adorable pug who just wants to be loved. He was picked up by OPRA at a nearby shelter and has his health problems, but that doesn't get him down. Spunky was right next to all the other pugs observing the hustle and bustle of the salon. Every time I went to give Spunky a pat on the head, a quirky little pug name Snoop came up to get his fair share of pats on the head. And even though they weren't in the kissing booth, Snoop and Lola loved to give kisses to anyone that was close to them.
During the summer months, OPRA does not hold many events because it's just too hot for the little pugs. However, every month they visit a different Petco located in Central Florida to find loving homes for the available pugs.
The OPRA website gives you all the information you need to know about the organization, how to give a donation, and how you can adopt or foster a pug. So, if you are interested in adopting or fostering a pug or if you just want to give a donation, please visit the website. Spunky, Snoop, Lola and all the other available pugs would greatly appreciate your help!
