O-Town Trend Alert: Flirty Skirts
By Ashley GeorgeTuesday, July 7, 2009
It's official ladies: we are experiencing a summer like no other. With temps reaching the high 90s, we are in for one steamy season. How can a girl look breezy and feminine when she's sweating like she just left the gym? The answer is simple: ditch your shorts and capris and go for a fun and feminine skirt. You can find them in every shape and size but this season, the hottest skirts are the ones that keep you cool. Check it out:
Daytime Fashion
For the day: Try your hand at a bright color. Purple was a big color in the past two seasons, try trading in your plum and eggplant for a little fuchsia or magenta. Here's my purple pick from J. Crew (only $30!):
This skirt is perfect for a day out around town, or a trip to the theme park -- but if you're planning to take this look into the office, go for a more conservative length. J. Crew offers the same print and color in a pencil skirt.
Mini-tip: The more neon you go, the better. Day-Glo is a big look this summer.
Nighttime Chic
For the Evening: Leave that LBD behind and go for something with a little more shine. Metallics are perfect for the summer. Try a metallic mini or a sequined skirt like this:
